Agonyst are a difficult band to describe. Chaotic Technical Death Metal would be a start, but does not go far enough.

Centennial is a really clear, heavy, maniacal beast of a record. It surges through styles and rarely relents. At times the odd section will call to mind Mr. Bungle and there is definitely some Strapping Young Lad in there, but so much more.

As good as this album is, this band need to be experienced live and that insane magic cannot be captured on a recording.   Their debut music video is quite possibly the best music video ever made!
