WET NUNS – “Wet Nuns”

WetNunsSometimes it’s all luck in the timing, initially dismissing the band due to the attention seeking name however a video for Heavens Below appeared during a YouTube surf session, pleasantly surprised by the Stoner Rock Riffage I booked a ticket to see Wet Nuns‘ debut album release show after which they promptly disbanded!

A 2 piece blues/stoner rock combo that has confidence & swagger to spare along with the “whiskey soaked vibe” that other bands dream of… not bad for what apparently started out as ‘joke’ band.  Also they class their influences as “Women, Death, Beards, Skulls & Whiskey”.

7 Year Itch Opens proceedings with a huge southern riff and equally huge production that Down or Clutch would be happy to call their own and is perfectly followed by the dual vocaled boogie stomp of No Death, this is no one trick pony either as the tempo and styles shift with the country esque twang of Only Sometimes and traditional blues of Don’t Wanna See Your Face No More.

This could very well become a cult classic.
