Things have been going really well for Anathema recently. The old classic tracks from the 90s are a million miles away from where they are these days, so dipping into the past could have been a step too far for many of the people only familiar with their more recent output.

Luckily the oldies are treated with total respect on “Falling Deeper“, only sections of some of the tracks have been revived for this compilation. The melodies and atmospheres that always burned through their early work have been given a new lighter life, in keeping with the band’s current sound.

The tracks take on a new life and hopefully this will encourage some of the more recent converts to the band to fully appreciate the tracks of the past.  There are very few bands that can boast a catalogue of unfaltering quality, but when a band has such a long and varied output, this is praise of the highest order!
